This free printable Super Dad Father's Day card is a great way for children to get creative and make something special for Dad for Father's Day, no matter their age. It's also a great last minute gift if Father's Day sneaks up on you - simply print off the free template and let the kids decorate it and you'll have a special card to let Dad know he's your hero.
The colouring card template is also great to use in the classroom as a group craft activity, or get students to decorate their card and send them home to families as a Father's Day gift. Preschoolers and older school children will be able to easily decorate the simplistic design.

FREE PRINTABLE SUPER DAD CARD
Let Dad know he's a real life superhero with this fun super dad card. I purposefully designed the super dad card using only black and white images so that children can make their mark and personalise their cards by colouring in all the elements with whatever colours they choose.
The design includes typical comic book related superhero items like a super dad chest plate, mask, action lines, lightening bolt and the exaggerated action words - BANG, BOOM and HERO.
The back of the card also includes a comic book style by line and drawing in black and white that can be coloured in. To represent the child giving the card I deliberately used a gender neutral cat dressed as a superhero so both girls and boys can use this card to give to their dad. The inside of the card is blank so children can add their own message.
HOW TO MAKE A SUPER DAD FATHER'S DAY CARD
- Free card template {see below}
- White cardstock or paper
- Pens, pencils or crayons
1. Print out the card template. I recommend printing the template on white cardstock although it will work ok on paper if that's all you've got. However cardstock will be sturdier for longevity.
2. Get kids to colour in and decorate the card. Give children pens, pencils or crayons and let them colour in all the individual images however they like. We used red, yellow, aqua and blue because they're typical colours associated with Superman comics.
3. Fold the card in half. Once the card has been decorated fold it in half along the horizontal dotted line in the middle of the page.
4. Fill in the inside of the card. If your children can write get them to fill in the inside of the card themselves with a message for dad. If they're too young to write they can either draw their own picture inside the card, or you can write a message for them.
Some fun Super Dad related messages include:
- I have a hero, I call him Daddy.
- The only Superman I know is my Dad.
- My Daddy is faster than Spiderman.
- My Daddy is as strong as the Hulk.
- My Daddy is as brave as Captain America.
- Some superheros don't wear capes, they're called Dad.
- Some people don't believe in heroes, but they haven't met my Dad.
